"Empathy enhances the quality of meaningful relationships, which research suggests is one of the most important factors in a person’s sense of well being." ~ The Atlantic

"From an evolutionary standpoint, empathy is a valuable impulse that helps humans survive in groups. In American schools, this impulse has been lying dormant from a lack of focus. But in Denmark, a nation that has consistently been voted the happiest place in the world since Richard Nixon was president, children are taught about empathy from a young age both inside and outside of school." ~ The Atlantic

In his book, Twice Adopted, Michael Reagan tells that late in his father's life before he became ill, his father told him his signing of the first no-fault divorce legislation as Governer of California in 1969 -  and the now current law in all fifty states - was his “greatest regret” in public life.

"Divorce is where two adults take everything that matters to a child -- the child's home, family, security and sense of being loved and protected -- and they smash it all up, leave it in ruins on the floor, then walk out and leave the child to clean up the mess." ~ Michael Reagan, Twice Adopted
